Working in-house at Arriva UK Bus, I devised and implemented strategic PR campaigns, whilst providing tailored communications support designed specifically to protect the reputation of the business and improve the perception of bus travel. I managed client-facing account work with only the overview of the agency's Directors and was a well thought of member of the team. BCS bought about one of my career highlights when in 2007, I played a key role in the success of the launch of the Somerset Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal. Thanks to a carefully executed campaign, which included gaining the frontpage headline in The Sunday Times on Remembrance Sunday, the local RBL branch raised in excess of £766,000 - an increase of 16 per cent on the 2006 Appeal and a record amount in the county. This campaign earned the agency a Not-for-profit Silver Award at the 2008 CIPR Pride awards and was Highly Commended by the 2009 Fresh PR Awards.
