Working in-house at Arriva UK Bus, I devised and implemented strategic PR campaigns, whilst providing tailored communications support designed specifically to protect the reputation of the business and improve the perception of bus travel. BCS bought about one of my career highlights when in 2007, I played a key role in the success of the launch of the Somerset Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal. Thanks to a carefully executed campaign, which included gaining the frontpage headline in The Sunday Times on Remembrance Sunday, the local RBL branch raised in excess of £766,000 - an increase of 16 per cent on the 2006 Appeal and a record amount in the county. This campaign earned the agency a Not-for-profit Silver Award at the 2008 CIPR Pride awards and was Highly Commended by the 2009 Fresh PR Awards.
