I am a location marketing professional with over a decade’s worth of experience delivering successful campaigns and projects in both the private and public sector globally. Global Director of Training, Events and International Sales

Conway Data, Inc is the world's premier, full service economic development consultancy providing expansion support for companies and the governmental investment promotion agencies that serve them. In my role at Conway, I oversee both the Events and Training Division and manage the organisation's international sales team with staff across Europe, the Americas, Middle East, Africa, and Australasia. In my time at Conway, I have also worked to shape the organisation's social media and marketing strategies and regularly contribute articles with an international focus to the company's publication Site Selection Magazine.
Events
I manage all aspects of the division and each event in our vast and varied portfolio including the World Forum for Foreign Direct Investment which has been organized annually in a different global location for 18 years. My roles and responsibilities include business development, budget management, venue selection and negotiation, on site-logistics, programme development, speaker recruitment, delegate management and recruitment, sponsorship sales and management, staff management, marketing, and communications. My main area of expertise is in programme research and content development with specific reference to the needs of the client organisation's role in attracting investment to their location from specific geographies or sectors.
Training
In 2017 I was appointed to relaunch Conway's training division and to provide foreign direct investment and investment promotion training to staff of government organisations across the globe. Since then, I have restructured the division, devised new curricula, developed new content and delivered training programmes to over 6000 investment promotion professionals from over 50 countries worldwide. I have developed the Training Division from a business development arm of the company to a profitable service. This role also requires regular research into new trends and strategies in FDI attraction and in customising the training for clients ensuring the content is relevant to their job roles, geographies, and sectors. These advisory training projects are often organised in partnership with or funded by international organisations such as the World Bank, UNCTAD, the European Union, USAID, UNDP and in January of 2020 I delivered the first training soft skills project funded by the Africa Development Bank in Madagascar.
International Sales
As part of my role at Conway I oversee our sales team internationally managing business development of all our services into all the geographies where we are represented. This role requires an understanding of the requirements of clients across Europe, the Americas, Middle East, Africa, and Australasia and coordinating sales efforts with personnel across all these locations. The role responsibilities include researching service and product requirements in different markets, setting sales goals and targets for the company and team, sales budgeting, and forecasting.

The Merchant Hotel is an AA accredited 5* property in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter. My role at the Merchant was a demanding one which required excellent skills in organisation and communication. I was responsible for selling and running all corporate events within the Hotel, developing new business contacts, attracting new corporate clients, and maintaining existing business. Whilst at the Merchant Hotel I worked with an array of corporate clients including Invest NI, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Barclays Wealth, Boodles and Benefit Cosmetics and I was an integral part of securing the successful bid for the MTV Europe Music Awards in Belfast in 2011 and worked on several events for MTV and the awards whilst they were hosted in the city.
