I'm offering
9.5 years as a Digital Business Analyst 6+ years working with Agile practices 8.5 years working in Digital Retail & Marketing 22+ years working with IT and Business teams I am a highly self-motivated person, a natural analyst, a deep thinker, with an open mind. I like to understand people's opinions, business and technical context, and "the big picture" before coming to any conclusions. I strive to find solutions that are the correct fit for the business within the constraints; pragmatic and tactical where necessary, strategic wherever possible. I have a total of 22 years of IT experience, having held a wide range of roles, and having been involved in many different projects of varying size, scope and complexity. I consciously moved into the digital space in 1999 and since 2009 it has been my sole focus (primarily in the Retail sector), with projects increasingly being iterative/agile as the industry has trended in that direction. I have a strong focus on self-improvement, continually studying under my own steam ensuring that my knowledge and skills remain current. In 2014, through self-study, I achieved the BCS/ISEB International Diploma in Business Analysis. Since then I have focussed on ensuring I remain on top of the industry trends around agile practices and techniques. I believe that people make or break projects, so I place emphasis on building relationships to underpin any work that I am engaged with. I am absolutely focused on being the best BA / PO that I can be for myself and for my clients. During my varied career I have engaged with (and received positive feedback from) senior stakeholders from Loyalty, eCommerce, Retail, CRM, Fulfilment and IT, eliciting, analysing and documenting requirements, primarily focussing on multi-channel retail, customer experience/retention, sales checkout funnel/conversion, order fulfilment and returns management. Digital Business Analyst / Product Owner
FitFlop.
Retail (eCommerce)
11/2018 N/A Digital Business Analyst / Product Owner (Contract) FitFlop Retail (eCommerce)
Project: Continuous improvements to Hybris e-Commerce platform
Methodology & documentation style: Agile Epics, User Stories
In mid-2017 FitFlop migrated their 5 site multi-country / multi-language e-Commerce website from Demandware to Hybris. Following the implementation, most of the team moved on, along with much of the platform knowledge. I joined the team as a Senior Digital Business Analyst to help FitFlop in the collection and management of high-level requirements for a large, fast-moving and growing backlog of change, and to co-ordinate the breakdown of requirements into epics and stories by the Business Analysts provided by the 3rd party suppliers.
On the departure of the Product Owner, I stepped into this vacant role, and as part of the Product Management team I drove the definition and implementation of new agile practices to improve the ongoing management of the requirements and contractual relationship with the System Integrator. As the Product Owner, I liaised with the various internal stakeholders for summary information about their initiatives, helped prepare cost/benefit analyses, and worked with the Digital General Manager on the prioritisation of the high-level backlog to ensure system development alignment with the business strategy.

04/2016 07/2018 Digital Business Analyst (Contract) The Body Shop Retail (eCommerce)
Project: Digital system platform replacement & ongoing improvements
Methodology & documentation style: Mix of Waterfall and Agile Epics, User Stories
Re-platforming project, replacing the previous in-house eCommerce platform with Hybris. My initial role was to manage the extraction of the global product catalogue from the old platform and transform this into the Hybris format, followed by its implementation for 14 countries and 19 languages.
Following the successful launch of Hybris I moved to the newly formed continuous improvements team to implement an agile framework for handling the ongoing enhancement of the platform for the business teams. This involved working closely with the Product Owner, Product Director, UX, country eCommerce Managers, IT team, Developers and Testers, and leading a changing team of Bas (including one intern whom I mentored) to build the product backlog, understand and document requirements in User Story format and to help embed agile working practises based around SCRUM.
