Peter was seconded to site to investigate the failure of previous works, revise
company site quality systems and ensure the installation method of soil nails was
carried out to Ciria guidance. Peter overseen day to day operations, promoted
and maintained a safe system of work; and was responsible for the production of programme recording changes/delays and reporting back to the client. Peter
controlled the finance of the subcontract by producing cost value reconciliation
reports as well as valuing works done and producing application for payments.
Peter led a team comprising of a graduate engineer, two foremen and twenty
operatives to ensure works were carried out to in conformance to design
standards whilst rebuilding a relationship with the client.

Peter was tasked to manage a section of works which included installing Ø1.8m
piles offshore. Peter was responsible for writing the method statements/risk
assessments as well as managing the drilling operations on site. Peter led a team of twenty-five operatives and a team of graduate engineers to successfully deliver
the drilling and installation of large diameter circular hollow section piles. Liaising
with the drillers, Peter was responsible for ensuring the drill rig was using the correct drilling technique (ranging from rotary to down the hole [DTH] hammer
drilling] to maintain optimum penetration rate. Despite challenging working
conditions, Peter helped to deliver the works to the satisfaction of the Client and Principal Designer.

representative on a large-scale ground investigation project. His role primarily
involved liaising with the contractor to ensure the ground investigation scope of
works was being followed, the sampling was being undertaken as per the schedule and monitoring progress. Peter had decent exposure to differing drilling
methods including cable percussion, rotary hammer and percussive and
auguring. The role required a firm understanding of BS5930, local geology and ground conditions. Peter was responsible for ensuring insitu testing methods
which included standard penetration testing; shear vanes were undertaken
correctly and at the requisite depth intervals. Peter overseen numerous
installations of piezometers and groundwater testing measures including
falling/rising head tests and ground water/gas monitors.
