Description - I was employed to help customers with their Christmas shopping and shopping in general. Over the duration of my time at Debenhams, I worked as part of a team 20 to ensure customers demands were met. Whilst working there I feel I worked both efficiently and effectively.
There were strict time limits which I needed to meet while ensuring the quality of my work was still to the best standards I could achieve. As part of my role I worked in many different departments such as gifts, gift food, children's clothing and women's clothing. Also as part of my role I learned stock checking procedures, stock management and till cashing after the store was closed.
One of my most favorite parts of working at Debenhams was working on personalised Nutella jars and sweet jars in the gifts department. For this job I needed to communicate effectively with the customer to find out what name and personalised message, they wanted on their items. I felt this helped me alot with my communication skills as before I was quite shy in talking to customers however, towards the end of my employment I felt like it was second nature.
