Part time role, being furloughed since March 2020 due to corona virus restrictions. Assisting projects in which industrial applications with thermophilus and lactobacillus are studied. The performance of the thermophilus and lactobacillus microorganisms is optimized for scale up and the microbial production of high value chemicals is improved through selected evolution and pathway enhancement techniques (e.g. adding different concentrations of molasses to the bacterial growth medium). Thermophilus bacteria-mediated degradation of waste water to extract ethanol is achieved mainly through HPLC analysis of the samples taken from fermenters.
