This role has enhanced my strategic planning skills to deliver objectives in a timely manner as well as my project management, stakeholder management/influence, scheduling skills.
My first role was supporting the project manager on the project to redefine the job description, training, and purpose of the Retail Assistant Manager role within Harrods. Project 1
- Working with diverse stakeholders to schedule, lead and record focus groups and workshops in order to define the scope and proposed project plan and report back on session outcomes.
- Driving and liaising with cross-functional teams (including finance, retail managers and senior leaders) in order to deliver to project commitments.
- Using interpersonal skills to successfully organise stakeholder interviews and effectively capture data to support the business case during the research phase of the project.
- Understanding the project schedule to proactively carry out the needs of the lead project manager; managing key tasks, maintaining project documentation, note-taking and providing project updates to stakeholders.
- Utilising outcomes of focus groups and Senior Leader feedback, to create accurate job descriptions and work planners to redefine the Assistant Manager role, allowing a review period to complete within the required timeframe.
- Creating the final communication and engagement plan to all Retail Stakeholders which included developing FAQs, comms packs and handouts.
Project 2
- Interpreting the initial vision from the Retail Director (sponsor) and transforming the mandate into an outline project brief and conception document which would address the problem put forward.
- Translating the outline project brief into a play-back presentation to support business justification and determine the approach with the sponsor.
- Initiating conversations with key stakeholders to gain understanding of the current opportunities and possible models for the final structure.
- Using feedback from stakeholders to adapt approaches and documentation to support Harrods' business requirements.
- Creating customer journey flows to highlight current obstacles and opportunities to develop proposals of new customer journeys.
