Currently I am working as a Geophysicist on a multi-client 3D re-imaging project in the Campos and Santos basins offshore Brazil. This project consists of more than 19 3D marine seismic surveys acquired during early 1990's to 2011 and ranging from shallow, transitional and deep-water environments. As such, I have quickly gained valuable experience in all aspects of seismic data processing for a variety of data environments and quality. The main workflows that I have experience in are:
Data loading and initial QC 2D and 3D SRME - Surface Related Multiple Elimination
Pre-processing and navigation merge SPMA - Short Period Multiple Elimination
Denoise workflows - Swell, Linear and seismic interference 3D and 4D Regularisation
Wavelet Processing - De-bubbling and zero phasing Velocity Model Building (VMB) preparation
De-ghosting Post Processing - Radon de-multiple, RMO
As my experience of the above processing techniques has grown, I now have a firm understanding of both the theory and application of a range of data transforms, data optimization (inversion) and finite difference modelling. I have also gained exposure to a range of ray-based and wavefield extrapolation seismic imaging (migration) methods such as time and depth Kirchhoff, beam Kirchhoff and Reverse-Time Migration (RTM). Furthermore, I have also gained knowledge on industry-leading Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) techniques during my training programme.
