Established a limited company and successfully secured an ongoing contract with Subsea 7 to plan, execute and manage all welding activities on the Shell Arran Development project (North Sea). The Contract has been extended for Chevron JSM4 Reel Lay project (GOM).
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
Developed and qualified effective welding procedures that enabled the achievement of strict testing criteria for sour service at -46°C for CRA lined pipeline girth welds
Recommended innovative new solutions to push the boundaries and optimise the welding process, enabling cost reductions for the business:
o Obtained management support, successfully revived, and developed a mechanised GS-FCAW welding solution adding it to the list of Subsea7 welding capabilities.
o Collaborated successfully with team of engineers to modify the vessel production line and develop a first-of-its kind full double-joint sliding pipe-in-pipe system, doubling the production rate.
Made critical decisions on the use of appropriate welding processes, materials engineering and metallurgical engineering to minimise repairs or failures
