• 2SER-FM is a metropolitan community radio station, jointly owned and operated by the University of Technology, Sydney and Macquarie University. It is one of Australia's longest established community radio stations.
• As the station's Macquarie manager I was responsible for the overall management of 2SER's satellite studio at Macquarie University.
• This role involved: Managing all aspects of studio operation; recruiting volunteer broadcasters and training them in key aspects of broadcast journalism and production; overseeing the quality of programming produced from the Macquarie studio; identifying and implementing editorial guidelines; initiating and delivering ongoing training to volunteers; promoting the station within the university and wider community.
• I also produced and presented a weekly higher education program showcasing the research of academics from Macquarie University and the University of Technology, Sydney.
• I initiated, designed and delivered a media training course specific to academics.
• I identified revenue raising training opportunities within the broader community and managed the delivery of this training.
• I developed and delivered broadcast law training programs to the station's volunteers and to other stations within the community radio sector.
