I have been involved in numerous desalination projects both onshore and offshore using reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, membranes based filtration technologies (such as Ultrafiltration and Microfiltration) and conventional media-based filtration systems. - Engineering Process Manager for the Kindasa 25,500 m3/day SWRO Desalination Plant in Jeddah port (KSA)- This was the first commercial full scale use of Membrane Ultrafiltration (UF) system upstream of a SWRO: the UF had a filtrate capacity of 60,000 m3/day. I was accountable for all aspects of the project engineering. This involved coordinating the work and taking full responsibility for the technical output of a multi-disciplined team of engineers, interface internally with the Project Manager and externally with the Client (Kindasa Water Services) and his Consultant (Dar El Teqnia). On completion of the project, I was responsible for clearing any punch list items and minor defects in accordance with the Contract requirements.
- Lead Process Engineer for the world's largest offshore Sulphate Removal Plant- 430,000 BPD for the BP's Plutonio FPSO in Block 18 offshore Angola.
- Lead Process Engineer for a 90,000 BPD offshore Sulphate Removal Plant for FPSO Brasil.
- Lead Process Engineer for a 135,000 BPD offshore Sulphate Removal Plant- for the South Arne platform - Danish Sector.
