This all starts with gathering data and producing information from that data. By looking at both financial and non-financial metrics, I help managers to see the full picture. This could lead to anything from fine-tweaking operational expenditures to making large investments into new assets.
I have worked in finance for 5+ years, and my aim is to become a fully qualified management accountant by the end of 2021. When I don't have my head buried in spreadsheets, I'm watching e-sports, playing guitar, and practicing yoga.

VR-entertainment company that specialise in building 'immersive' experiences. Provide VR machines to aquariums, zoos and family-entertainment centres.
In this role I initially produced monthly management accounts, then transitioned to weekly KPI
reporting for senior management. The reports included like-for-like comparisons to previous weeks / years, forecasts taking into account seasonality, breakdowns of revenue streams, and capacity utilization
reports.
One of the perks of working at a technology start-up was having the freedom to explore and create new
solutions to problems on an ongoing basis. To assist with the need for an ERP system, I developed and wrote a google-sheet script which helped the sales, warehouse and finance teams to work more cohesively
together (and with external suppliers).
Responsibilities
● Production of draft monthly management accounts
● Production of divisional KPI reporting packs
● Reconciliation of income reports
● Month end journals - prepayments, accruals, IFRS 16, employee loans
● Payroll journals - calculated from clocking in system and bureau reports
● Fixed asset register maintenance
● Purchase and sales ledger
● Credit control - chase letters / emails, debtors reports
● Year end audit assistance with queries
● Inter-company account reconciliations
● Consolidation accounts and operating segments
● Ad hoc - Mail merge letters, general administration
