CSR - Sustainable Trade Project Manager - Consultant

Consultant position employed to oversee the 'Made To Do Good' Ugandan sustainable trade programme. Working with 1200+ families in the Rwenzori region, incorporating four areas: coffee, cocoa, cotton and handicrafts and developing new products to bring into store. This role sat between producer groups and TJX, ensuring effective communication to develop robust supply chains and embedding these in the business.
● Responsible for all areas of the supply chain, from community development and on the ground co-operative formation to product development, branding, communication and international in-store launches
● Ensured systems and policies were implemented in line with internationally recognised labour laws as well as adhering to the TJX Supplier Code
● Worked with the marketing teams to ensure the programme objectives and achievements were communicated effectively to customers and employees. Including: social, website, labelling, instore launches, intranet and employee magazine
● Developed and managed relationships with multiple external consultants, NGO's, certification bodies, external auditing companies etc.
● Worked with retail teams to develop product ranges, critical paths, pricing structures
● Worked with internal and external design teams to develop brands, packaging and copy for the coffee and chocolate brands
● Managed the Fairtrade certification process of the cotton cooperative - the first Fairtrade cotton in East Africa.
