My creative work breaks down into two main areas: The first is brand strategy and concepting. The second is copywriting.

I’m a really useful person for workshopping brand strategy, helping problem owners to distinguish their key differentiation in the marketplace, and how that point of difference might look, feel and sound. Brands can’t get to lines like "Just do it" without a lot of thinking and distilling beforehand. So I’m great at helping clients to really lock down their over-arching brand direction.

That done, I help to give it all creative expression. Mostly in words, but I'm a useful visual thinker too.

In this capacity, I helped to turn the Smirnoff Brand around in the UK. I helped Guinness to hijack the 2016 Rugby World Cup. I took ZSL to a younger audience. I came up with a crazy vending machine for Coca-Cola. I helped to create and name the Vype e-cigarette brand for BAT. I wrote the sumptuously adjectival descriptions of each yummy chocolate on the inlay card of your Black Magic Selection Box. And I invented Silent Disco too. Yes actually.

I’m a comfortable writer in any brand space and have written for just about every industry sector, for all manner of clients. From speech writing with the chairman of an international hotel chain, to writing websites and dealing with multi-stakeholder input, to DM packs, to social media, to film and radio scripting content, to brochures, leaflets, POS, billboards, CTA buttons and just about anything else that can take a few words.
