I'm offering
I love the ‘buzz’ that a great idea brings. That shot in the arm that feels like a superpower. I love stretching it, pushing it, tinkering with it ‘til it’s right. Until it stands up to questioning emerging robust, triumphant, and true.
Whether it’s concepts, copy, or both, these are the ideas I strive for on every blank page that presents itself.

Senior Freelance Copywriter
McCann Central.
Since making the move to work as a freelance writer, I undertook a 6 month stint at McCann Central working on brands including Barclays, Argos, Nurishment and Logic.
As well as coming up with creative concepts and copy I was also called upon to help
present pitch responses.
I went back to work at HeyHuman for two months, assisting on the Diageo account
and experiential activation ideas for brands such as Malta Guinness and Smirnoff in the African and Indian markets.
During a 2 month spell at TWELVE Agency I helped create and form concepts that led to a pitch-winning response for the global Madame Tussauds account. Whilst there, I
also worked on Cineworld TVC concepts and experiential activation ideas for brands such as Old Mout and Strongbow.
Across the year, I have also been working with an agency called, &Ugo coming up with ideas and writing content for the global Peroni Nastro Azzurro social accounts.
During my time as a freelancer I have relished the opportunity to develop the entrepreneurial side of being a creative in the advertising industry. I've enjoyed pitching
for my own work and building a portfolio of my own direct clients embracing the opportunity to think outside of just being a standard 'creative'.

job
Senior Copywriter
The Integer Group.
My art director at the time and I joined Integer as the agency's sole senior creative team
reporting directly to the ECD. We were brought in to work on sports nutrition brand,
Optimum Nutrition (ON). We spent 10 months doing this, regularly preparing and presenting conceptual work for our ON clients. The work ranged from tactical social
campaigns for things like the January New Year fitness spike and campaigns to announce sponsorship and sports star partnerships to new product announcements
that required a social and shopper focus. We also worked on the Mars Confectionary and Mars Foods accounts across brands including, Uncle Ben's, Dolmio, Skittles,
Starburst, Celebrations, and Galaxy, working as part of an all-agency group to provide
concepts that worked through-the-line in multiple channels.
During our time at Integer, we mentored a junior creative team, overseeing their work
on various different projects and helping them structure their ideas. We were also the creative leads on a winning pitch for Philips Lighting, providing the strategic setup,
conceptual thinking and creative that formed the response.

job
Senior Copywriter
HeyHuman.
After 10 months working in a mid-weight team at HeyHuman, I was promoted to work in a senior creative team with the agency's Creative Group Head. Together we forged a
good partnership overseeing the Unilever account and, as the most senior team, we
became the go-to pitch creatives at the agency. We won pitches for Purity Brewing
Company, Sony, Peroni, WKD, and True Instinct - a new pet food brand from Natures
Menu that we helped launch in the UK.
We were brand guardians for Unilever, overseeing all work produced for the PG Tips,
Radox, and Cif accounts and also for Natures Menu. This involved campaign concept
creation, developing, and adopting, brand tone of voice, client presentations and working very closely with the brand team, overseeing and signing-off work produced for
each account by junior creatives and social teams.
Alongside another of the agency's senior art directors, I was a creative lead on the Peroni account, creating and overseeing all concepts and copy for their 'Made in Italy'
campaign, which involved the shooting of a cinema ad, OOH, and social content.
By the time I left HeyHuman, I was the agency's most senior writer. I'd mentored junior
and mid-weight writers and was working closely with the agency's creative and strategic leadership group, always called upon in the initial stages of any project to help
shape the brief and provide strategic input.

Mid-weight Copywriter
LIFE Agency.
I progressed to the position of mid-weight copywriter at LIFE and during this time my
experience grew considerably. I no longer worked solely on 'shopper' and experiential but now across print advertising, TV, and radio too. At this point I also became more
client facing, attending meetings with the account teams to present the concepts I'd
created and the copy I'd written. I was also responsible for developing the tone of voice for various brands and part of the creative team on successful pitch wins for Whitbread,
Molson Coors, Schwalbe, Samsung, and Thorntons.
During my time at LIFE, I worked on brands including, Carling, Cobra, Grolsch, Coors
Light, Worthington's, Beefeater Restaurants, Brewers Fayre, Nestle, Mars Foods, Dr.
Oetker - Ristorante and Chicago Town, Schwalbe and GSK.

2007 - 2008
job
PR Account Executive
S&X Media.
2013
During my time at S&X, I worked on 3 main projects. The first was the launch of the Speedo LZR Racer swimsuit. This was game-changing innovation in swimwear. From the moment it was released Speedo sponsored swimmers were smashing records
wearing it. As a small agency of 6, we planned, prepared and helped manage launch
parties in Sydney, New York, and London that all took place simultaneously. A
hologram of Michael Phelps wearing the suit appeared onstage at the same time at each event. My involvement consisted of press release writing for the many records
that were being broken and assisting in the planning and preparation of these events in the run-up to them taking place.
The second project I was heavily involved with was the Birmingham Post's 150th Gala
Dinner, which took place at the University of Birmingham and boasted the great and the
good of the West Midlands on its guest list. As a team of 6, we planned and orchestrated the event. My role included everything from writing and selling in press
releases in the run-up, helping recruit donors for the silent auction, sourcing and ordering furniture and collateral for the big night, and then on the night itself, doing
script read-throughs with compere Michale Buerk, and managing guests backstage.
I also did the PR for Birmingham based band, 'This Light Company'. This involved
successfully securing management and legal representation for the band and writing
press releases for new EP and album launches that I then sought to sell into music
press and blogs.
The Traps - Lead singer & songwriter
Ongoing
I've been a musician for an embarrassingly long time and played in the same band with my best mates since I was 17. But like many creative people it's an itch that I can't, and refuse to, stop scratching. It allows me to be creative on my own terms and that
freedom in itself is inspiring, and breathes new life into the ideas I have professionally.
We've written and released 2 albums and have a third in the pipeline. Played festivals in locations from Serbia to the Scilly Isles, and shared stages with a host of eclectic acts from Morrissey to McFly. Done Radio 2 sessions and been torn apart in the music
press and have thankfully survived (relatively) unscathed able to laugh at it all and feel
fortunate for the fun that it's been and continues to be.
