Some obsessions are hard to admit to. Others aren’t. And I don’t mind saying that my infatuation with words and stories is absolutely the latter.

For as long as I can remember I’ve been consumed by words, their meanings and how they can be applied in different situations. They’re “just stories” people would tell me. But I always knew it was something more. Then I started noticing them, the stories all around us. The ones in the overheard conversations, on the bus-stop billboards, in the expression on every face. The ones that shape who we are. Once you’ve become enthralled with the power of words, they’ll never be “just stories” again.

I am an award-nominated creative writer, filmmaker, and marketing copywriter who is extremely passionate about his craft and seeking opportunities to develop my skillsets further. I have extensive experience working on projects within a variety of fields including; marketing, PR, prose, theatre, film, journalism, and games. The interdisciplinary skillset that this variation has afforded me, means that I am able to adapt my knowledge to approach any project in a unique way.

The first chapter of my writing career began during my time at university when the thought of using my linguistic skillset became too enticing to resist, and I began working as a freelance creative writer. From here, the story got far more exciting. I quickly found creative work in an eye-opening range of fields, receiving several nominations and accolades in the process, and was able to begin writing and creating my own short films.

I have a history of swift and effective delivery of top quality content, demonstrated by the accolades that I have been awarded within the field of writing and storytelling; including; a best selling Kindle novella, film festival shortlisting, and a first-class degree in English Literature and Drama. Due to the range of fields I have worked in, I have also had the opportunity to create narratives for a myriad of genres, highlighting how I am able to adapt my abilities to suit a multitude of genres and briefs.

Additionally, I have written multiple mobile games and have been the lead dialogue writer for a VR game that has received multiple Raindance Film Festival awards, including Best Narrative Experience. Working in games has allowed me to develop my skills with first-person immersion and has made my stories in other mediums stronger as a result. Additionally, I have accrued a great deal of film and video making experience and I have created content for bands and musicians, to accompany theatre and have written and directed several short films. I was also named as one of three 'Emerging Brit' screenwriters by the National Youth Film Academy and created a Viking short film that was showcased in front of many of the biggest names in British filmmaking, on the largest cinema screen in Europe.

Finally, I have edited all of my own published works, edited a multitude of marketing copy, and have extensive experience as a professional script doctor. These roles have honed my accuracy, editing skills, and ability to pick up another writer's style and story, adapting into their voice, and improving the quality of the project. Due to the attention to detail that I bring to each role, I have a history of reliability and have regularly managed to go above and beyond the expectations of my clients. I very much doubt that my obsession with words will be going anywhere anytime soon, and I’m particularly excited to see where it takes my own story next.
