I have rather broad experience and have intentionally worked across a number of different industries which often leads to people asking me for some highlights from my career to date and how I got into digital. With that in mind, I list a few below:
• I built my first website at 14, charged for the first at 15, was commissioned by my secondary school at 16, then went onto build a second for my headmaster who moved to a new school
• Found an academy teaching a course in web-based graphic design, left there with my tutor and set up our own design studio at 17
• Won an E-commerce Manager role over 45 other applications to join PRC HiFi & Video as their first digital hire. Went on to manage the roll-out of their e-commerce function and turned over their first £1m online
• Worked for myself for around five years while travelling before accepting a role at Gamesys, they gave me one domain to optimise, I got it to position 1 in the SERPS inside six weeks, would later go on to manage seven brands at 24, grew a PPC budget from 40k per month to over 700k. I was the appointed consultant for Tombola and Sun Bingo and worked directly with our media buyer spending over £1.5m per month on display, we were Hotmail, Virgin Media and Yahoo UK's biggest advertisers at the time
• I commissioned a TV ad agency, worked with a BI team of 16 and managed all ad placements in the same role
• I introduced paid social at MOO, grew that to over 600k per month, also migrated them onto a new ad server, PPC platform, managed North America, rebuilt the team, commissioned a new SEO agency, set them up to scale
• At http://******.** I had an idea to inject a clever retargeting script with the help of my dev's on our booking app which loaded on client's websites such at Zizzi, Prezzo, Bella Italia and gained a high intent retargeting audience of over 3 million within a week, we just retargeted them with http://******.** ads and grew to over 1m bookings per month, managed a team of seven
• Worked at Forward Partners and gave many firms their first 10, 100, 1,000 and 10,000 customers through growth hacking techniques
• At Butterfly Twists I managed everything from my fulfilment house, customer acquisition in over 60 markets, website development, customer success, merchandising, seasonal buys, ATL, partnerships and full P&L
