● Pupil attainment: As head of department: most recent history cohort at Rokeby School, achieved 70% 9-4 including two grade 9s in a cohort of 50 at a challenging inner-city London all boy’s school. History department at Rokeby rated as outstanding department under my leadership, in SLT review of Humanities
As a class teacher: 2019-20 class at Hethersett Academy achieved 80% 4+. Previous GCSE class at Brampton Manor Academy achieved 100% A*-C in a mixed-class, at a non-selective inner-city London school.
● Curriculum ‘designed with intent’: Designed and taught a diverse, innovative KS3 curriculum with focus on memory retention and GCSE skills and knowledge, at Rokeby school.
● Diverse curricula: My passion as a history teacher is doing justice to history. This means that in the design of history curricula I ensure special attention is given to narratives outside the standard British centric curriculums. I also work tirelessly at educating students in histories outside a ‘single story’ of a people, culture or event. I work closely with several organisations including Facing History and Ourselves, Black Lives Matter and Justice 2 History to name a few.
● Reliable, hardworking and dedicated: Work tirelessly in a number of roles at Fulham Cross Girl’s School, Brampton Manor Academy and Rokeby School; all inner-city London comprehensives and Hethersett Acadmey in Norwich. Gained regular promotions throughout career. Exceeded and met all performance targets in most-recent appraisal.
● Adaptability and flexibility: Work as Associate Assistant Head, Head of History, form tutor, and Assessment Only and PGCE mentor, teach KS3, 4 and have experience teaching KS5. Create engaging virtual schemes of work for students throughout covid-19 pandemic.
● Classroom consistency: Consistently rated ‘outstanding’ in lesson observations. A top seller on TES for KS3 & 4 resources.
● Excellent teamwork: Work alongside SLT and governor colleagues to prepare school for OFSTED, collaboration with SLT peers on SMSC curriculum, develop innovative resources and SOWs alongside colleagues.

● CPD: Attend and deliver a variety of innovative in-school and external CPD with particular focus on raising attainment at GCSE.
● Data analysis: Keep centralised data sheets across the history department for all class, also a folder of in-depth analysis on all students studying history including seating plans, learning needs, intervention strategies, colour-coded mark sheets. Analyse history data for all history classes, track exam progress of all KS4 history classes over the year. Analyse whole-school data. These are practices used across the entire history department.
