Nike Foundation.
A project for the Nike Foundation's Girl Hub took me to Ethiopia.
The brief was to create a homegrown girl band, developing the name, casting,
styling, musical direction and launch marketing. The ultimate aim was to create female role models for young girls in Ethiopia to inspire them and to prompt greater recognition for girls from the rest of society.
We successfully secured £8.8 million from the UK Government to fund the project (much
to the Daily Mail’s dismay) which includes music videos, a weekly radio drama and talk show, and a nationwide network of after-school clubs for young girls to come together in friendship and safety.
8 years on, “Yegna” is still going strong, with 9 seasons, 113 episodes and a feature-length movie to its name. It’s even inspired tribute bands of young girls emulating their new role models.

As well as heading up B&Q, Vodafone, Sony and Sony Ericsson, I got to work on a broad spread of Dare's other accounts including Sainsbury’s, Barclaycard and the FA.
We personally pitched for and won the B&Q and English FA accounts. For the latter, the Prime Minister got involved in one campaign while another broke two world records.
I sat on the Creative Board and line-managed many of the teams. During this time, Dare was named Campaign Magazine's 'Digital Agency of the Decade'.
