I'm offering
Where did it all start?
I blame Donald Norman and his book 'The design of everyday things." - it's what got me thinking, and the more I thought, the more I got really into it.
Usability is really where my passion lies; although research is now up there, without research and analysis, what are we really doing?
I've been doing this now for over a decade, and a lot has happened in that time. Although I was playing around with web design before I went to University - the less said about that, the better.
I have had the pleasure of working for all manner of companies, small, large, enormous, in house, from home, in an agency - you name it.
So I guess the question is what I can offer you that you can't get anywhere else? Sure there are thousands of UX'ers (of those who profess to be) out there. Digital Experiences is my life; it's what I do, a confessed nerd, from an early age, I just wanted to know how things worked and how you could make it better.
- I'm honest - sometimes a little too honest.
- I love to inspire -
I enjoy watching people have a lightbulb moment. -
I understand the importance of deadlines - and go out of my way to make sure you hit yours. -
I get the complexities of corporate bureaucracy, and I know how to navigate it to get the best solution for the user.
So let's have a chat, tell me about you, and at the end of the day if you don't think it's a good match I can put you in touch with some other UX'ers.
And - if you want to know more, you can visit my website at http://*****.**

Situ Live.
Situ Live was a new startup focusing on the retail market, by showcasing products in a new flagship store in London.
They were starting from scratch and, the business needed a fully working backend system to handle product information in a clean and easy to understand manner.
As well as a product catalogue, they also required a data platform capable of visualising different types of data for the retailers.
Work first started on the back end systems, followed by a marketing site and the groundwork on a new take on e-commerce.
There was also some work done on internal screens! Exciting Stuff
Unfortunately, I can't go into too much detail around the product offering as it is still in development!

Consultant User Experience Lead
ING (Phillipines).
My primary responsibility at ING was the leadership of a large group of designers, through design thinking techniques, facilitating both group and 1-on-1 workshops, enabling innovation across the business.
The results of this were a significantly reduced design debt across the Philippines as well as a smaller Chinese team, increased productivity and cross-department working relationships.
Working within a new market required me to research and understand the different cultures and usage behaviour, compared, to that of western users, this was especially prevalent when designing for the Chinese market.

The Co-operative Bank plc.
Working within an Agile environment bringing about the digital transformation of the co-operative banking website, primarily working through wireframes and prototypes before user testing with accessibility being a critical factor in the design process.
Using Axure RP to create fully working prototypes that handling equations and functioned much like a banking site allowed user testing to be more' lifelike.'
Co-operative Bank presented some unique challenges, and older demographic and a lower than average technical knowledge. Clean design, non-technical jargon and educational campaigns both in-store and online helped to alleviate this pain point.
