I'm offering
Hi, my name is Emma Shakeshaft, I am a Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Designer recently graduated from Leeds Arts University. I enjoy creating graphic dynamic prints using both analogue and digital processes. I have proficient knowledge of CAD software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and a basic understanding of AVA. I also have experience working with hand printing techniques including screen printing, mono printing and fabric dyeing. The diverse range of collections within my portfolio shows how well I can adapt to design for different market areas. Working on a variety of live brief's including Hallmark, Patternbank and Milliken Floors I am able to be versatile in my design process depending on the product and the market.
Working in a large studio for the past three years has enabled me to work in a fast-paced environment with a forward-thinking outlook as well as developing my communication skills. Working alongside other creatives has provided me with opportunities to collab with my peers.

Sewtec Automation Commission
Sewtec Automation.
I created a digital print inspired by the business itself, incorporating the concept of robotics and machinery within the automation industry. The circular motifs symbolise Sewtec global export business.Gradient use of colour creates a metallic like effect representing the role of machinery. The colour red is taken directly from the Sewtec company logo. The clean and sharp style of drawing links well to the aesthetics of the new company premises.

Kirkstall Forge Commission
Kirkstall Forge.
I created a digital print incorporating the importance of the industrial revolution as well as the setting of Kirkstall Forge. The structural style of drawing I have used reflects the history of the site. The use of varying tones of blue objectifies the nature in which the Forge nestles, including the surrounding water sources such as the river Aire. In my opinion this print would appeal to a larger audience due to the contemporary design and the futuristic aesthetics continuing the development of Kirkstall Forge.
