As Cloud Architect within Octopus Investments' technology and product engineering division, Octopus Labs, I have been responsible for redesigning the infrastructure underlying Labs' wide-ranging estate of B2B and B2C financial technology products. As a result of many years of fast-moving innovation, Labs has a varying degree of modernisation of their cloud resources. Chief Technology Officer (Fixed Scope Project)
Immersive Games Lab / Electronic Theatre.
Hired as employee #2 at this new retail entertainment business from the co-founder of Tough Mudder, my project focused on taking a simple idea to proof-of-concept and fundraising. Over 4 months, I conducted R&D in the immersive games and escape room industry, building prototypes and running user testing before finalising an entirely original software/hardware platform for room-scale, team video gaming.
During the fundraising process, I served as product advisor and user test lead, rapidly iterating on game concepts with over 250+ game testers and running investor demonstration sessions. The investment round closed a £2.6m seed round in January 2019 with Index Ventures, Sweet Capital and JamJar as lead investors.
My role currently covered product development, technology R&D, back-office systems architecture and consultancy on the overall customer experience across both physical and digital spaces.
