I'm offering
I am a seasoned Technical Consultant and Enterprise Systems specialist looking for a new challenge. My most recent position was a Pre and Post sales High Availability Storage technology specialist working for a software supplier to ZFS-based Software Defined Storage companies working widely with reseller and distributor channels globally.
I have an extensive background in technology and software having worked extensively with Solaris and Linux in Enterprise Computing and Internet technologies for over 20 years. This has included roles as Technical Architect, CTO, IT director, project manager, technology evangelist and consulting roles with enterprise software and infrastructure technology.
My career, experience and capabilities have spanned many technology shifts from pre-internet on-premise data centres through to “As a Service” Cloud infrastructures, and I have provided consulting and project management capability across all industry segments with a strong emphasis on High Availability, Resilience, Performance and Scalability. I believe I have solid multi-disciplinary and multi-industry experience and keep myself informed with business and technology shifts and insights.

Director & Co-Founder
High-Availability.Com.
Ltd, Wilmslow, Cheshire, UK
I co-founded High-Availability.com to take to market a High Availability (Cluster) product that I designed and co-built for the Sun Microsystems Enterprise market.
Initially, I helped get the product to market, and was heavily involved in pre-sales, implementations, post-sales, customer training and marketing activities, including customer presentations, trade-shows, seminars etc. and recruited developers, technical support, sales and marketing staff.
The company now successfully sells a mature Clustering product (RSF-1) to many organisations throughout the world on mission-critical environments, (on Sun, IBM, HP, Microsoft, FreeBSD and Linux platforms), and has remained profitable throughout.

Regional Director

1995 - 2000
job
Managing Director & Founder
Grenville Consulting Ltd.
UK
I founded Grenville Consulting (UK) Ltd in 1995 and built the business from scratch to a 50 person strong team with revenues over £3m within 5 years, growing the company revenue and capability by 50% year on year. I proactively sought exit opportunities and engaged with five prospective active industry partners before agreeing to be acquired by Exodus in August 2000.
Initially, I was highly involved with technical enterprise consulting delivery, business generation and recruitment, but after 2.5 years, focused on growing the company. I successfully built and developed strong industry partnerships with Sun Microsystems (Professional Services), and most Sun resellers and integrators in the UK (including ICL, Horizon, Computacenter, Veritas, Acuma, Fujitsu etc.) and became leading supplier to most of these organisations, as well as developing a number of direct key accounts, including Deutsche Bank.
Our business was responsible for implementing many large-scale and critical enterprise-computing environments and for ongoing 24x7 on-site system administration that we did for a large number of high-profile clients including: BT, lastminute.com, Egg Bank, Nat West Markets, Deutsche Bank and Yorkshire Electricity.
