Richard is a writer of TV scripts, books and comics.

He is the creator and writer of SURFACE TENSION – a new TV crime drama now in development in the UK and NEVER AFTER a fantasy TV drama in development in the USA.

Richard has served as a judge for the BAFTA awards in 2013 and 2019 as well as on the BBC's 500 word short story competition for children between 2015-2019.

He is the writer and creator of Legendary Entertainment’s forthcoming series ROB (a reimagining of the Robin Hood mythos) as well as the his newest intellectual property, LAST LINE.

In children’s TV, Richard was Lead Writer on the Disney Hungama show EENA MEENA DEEKA and staff writer on the BBC’s BAFTA Award-winning TREE FU TOM and helped develop GO JETTERS. His most recent work was for the recently-broadcast third series of THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO! for ITV Studios and Amazon Studios.

In comics, Richard is writing the tie-in series for Netflix's LOST IN SPACE as well as DOCTOR WHO: THE 13th DOCTOR series for the BBC Studios.

Richard won the BBC Writersroom opportunity in 2012 and was one of a handful of writers selected for NBC Universal’s Development Initiative in 2015 and again in 2016.

He has a track record in developing shows for existing IP and has ghostwritten on a broad range of subjects and styles from celebrity books to scholarly medical texts.

Richard is also a journalist - working on business and internet related magazines and publication, topping his career working on the City Desk of the Sunday Express. He was also shortlisted for new journalist of the year in 1999 by the PPA.

Richard writes prose and audio scripts for many tie-in media projects and has adapted the works of Sherlock Holmes – including adapting THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES for audio.

He is a member of BAFTA, the WGGB, and the Society of Authors.
