Content and Social Media Manager
RealiseMe.
My current position is Content and Social Media Manager at start-up education company RealiseMe. Focused on helping teachers match with their perfect school jobs, the company has grown and expanded immensely during my time there.
The role itself has led me to develop and cement many vital marketing and business skills. Often working remotely, I've had to take my own initiative on big proposals and campaigns. This job has been completely my own to mould; having this much control over my own creative influence has been really refreshing and I've unearthed a few new skills of mine, especially within the marketing side of the position.
I can efficiently use our business social accounts as well as Google Analytics to regularly keep tabs on what kind of marketing works well for our specific audience and which posts perform the best throughout the month. I can create and alter our social media plan as a response to this. I have also gained some great knowledge of AI technology and how it can be a successful asset in marketing and business.
I am experienced using social media planning tools and marketing email creation sites such as Hootsuite, Force 24 and SendGrid to plan cleverly written campaigns, set out detailed plans and schedule tailor made posts to go out at prime times during the day and week.
The other side of my role sees me write and create all the original content for our website, as well as proofread and tweak any wording that goes up on our main and sub sites, social accounts or emails to clients. I also extensively research and pen all the blog posts aimed at our huge following of teachers on a monthly basis.
Most importantly though, my role includes continuously learning and taking over the ever evolving marketing and social media aspects of the business and thriving creatively within a fast-paced setting. I learn fast and adapt at lightning speed.
I frequently liaise with head teachers, NQTs, MATs and agencies in a polite and professional manner. I also competently use sites such as Trello as well as programmes like Microsoft Word and Excel for keeping track of my 'to do' lists and keep an eye on what content I have ready to go out each day.
I was privileged to attend City Hall in London with my RealiseMe team in 2019, where we won an award for our hard work as part of the prestigious UCL Educate Scheme.
Being part of RealiseMe, I have gained extensive marketing experience and have had the chance to learn more about IT and web graphics, design and come up with punchy lines, GIFs and visuals to engage our specific audience. I thrive in being independent and managing my own workload, always completing tasks on time and to an excellent standard. I love being part of our small but forever growing team and being able to develop my problem solving skills on a daily basis. It's exciting to be part of something which started as an initial compact idea but grew into something remarkable which helps teachers save time and money in their job searches.

2018 - 2019
job
Journalist
Biggin Hill News LTD.
My role included reporting on a vast range of hard-hitting news stories, writing feature articles and local political and sport news for two local weekly papers; Bromley Borough News and County Border News. I interviewed subjects, took accompanying photographs and published 10-15 web stories each day in a quick and concise manner.
I was also in charge of writing up the weekly music round-up and coming up with original content for my 'Local Things To Do This Weekend In Kent' posts as well as clearing the inbox and spotting important and interesting stories. I can effectively use complex editing programme Atex as well as InDesign and InCopy, to lay out and design the paper and my other duties involved proofreading copy, both online and print. I can also effectively use Adobe Photoshop and photo editing software to brighten up or change the exposure of a capture so it was appropriate for the paper.
I was solely responsible for making sure the late edition was sent to the off-site printers and was ready for publication every Tuesday evening. My job involved quickly and successfully learning how to adapt to being a journalist, an editor, sub-editor, a photographer, a layout artist and a proof-reader to name but a few roles, in the first few days of employment.

2013 - 2018
job
Receptionist
The Links Medical Practice.
Before joining Biggin Hill News, I worked at The Links Medical Practice in Mottingham from 2013 until 2018 as a receptionist and was also in charge of 'Access to Patient Medical Records'. This allowed me to develop my communication skills and learn to work under extreme pressure. I had to liaise with solicitors who needed urgent patient records, work to very tight deadlines and often deal with medical emergencies and difficult members of the public in a calm and collected manner. I thrived during my time at The Links and my confidence grew in myself and my abilities. I believe that this provided me with vital life skills that are transferrable to a fast-paced career within the media.
I'm an avid writer, I live and breathe creativity. I'm always jotting down article ideas for my own personal blog and I am currently penning my own travel book filled with my adventures so far from around the globe. When I'm not writing, I'm reading, drawing or painting, out running or enjoying a good cup of coffee.
On my own wordpress blog, I produce mainly opinion based articles, ranging from the stereotypical view of tattoos and piercings in modern society to my experience of 'The Moonwalk'(a charity walking marathon for breast cancer) which a group of us have raised over £7,000 for over the past two years. I like to get involved with charity work frequently, the last challenge I took part in was back in March, where I raised £250 in 'The GLOW Walk' for Dementia, which is a cause very personal to me.
I completed work experience at The News Shopper in 2016, where I reported on a number of local and breaking news stories. Before this in 2012, I shadowed a photojournalist with the Daily Express for the summer, I was fortunate enough to be able to be part of a variety of stories including the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, the unveiling of the Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park and the 2012 Olympics preparations.
In between leaving Biggin Hill News and starting at RealiseMe, I freelanced as a writer and content producer for an antiques website, writing compelling product listings and blog posts to suit the target audience whilst also updating relevant spreadsheets, researching products and learning about the fascinating and extensive history of some of the pieces. I also temped as a media runner for Hogarth LTD in Sea Containers House in the two weeks leading up to my employment at RealiseMe.
