• Investigate and recommend a new Wi-Fi vendor, saving over 50% (R4m vs >R8m) vs. remaining
with the present vendor, with no ongoing maintenance contracts.
• Implement upgraded border firewalls (active-active Palo Alto 5220).
• Implement new secondary ISP with BGP routing and appropriate routing policy.
• Introduction of network automation (Ansible).
• Migration to Provider Independent IPv6 addressing, dual stacked with a legacy /16 IPv4 block.
• Supportive network services (IPAM, DNS, NTP, DHCP, RADIUS, device registration; mostly on FreeBSD systems).
• Maintain existing edge, core, distribution and access routing and switching (MX & EX Juniper routing, Dell access switch layer) and wireless networking (Ruckus and Ubiquiti).
• Third tier support for network issues from desktop support, IT Ops sysadmins and telephony.
