I am a native English speaker from the United Kingdom. I have 17 years’ experience as a primary school teacher and I also hold a certificate as a teacher of English as a foreign language. A long time ago (but nevertheless relevant) I achieved GCSEs and A Levels in English Literature and English Language. Subsequently, I gained a Bachelor of Arts Degree, with honours, in History.
I have always been a stickler for the rules when it comes to the use of the English language. I enjoy finding errors and making corrections, as well as turning a piece of writing or digital content into a coherent and pleasurable read. I am extremely detail-oriented and have the patience, tenacity and stamina to go through your document until the final product is exactly what you need.
Proofreading is a career path that I have only just begun to follow seriously, therefore I don’t have examples of work to show just yet. However, I recently proofread content, and created positioning statements, for a new website commissioned by a commercial property law firm. The website is still in development, but I have seen the early prototype. The same people have requested that I do further proofreading for them on another project in the near future. I will also soon be copywriting and proofreading on a website upgrade for a successful digital design company.
Finally, I can use MS Word with the track changes option or the suggesting facility on Google Docs. Please choose a realistic deadline that gives me the necessary time to do a fantastic job, rather than a rushed one, and you the time to incorporate my comments and resolve any outstanding issues. I am a great communicator and promise to keep in contact as necessary and reply quickly to any queries.
