I was "headhunted" to have special responsibility for the pre-and post-ECO works in both open tender and Partnered schemes. I secured Funding and negotiated the main and sub-contracts for the design and installation of all energy saving measures such as EWI, CWI and LI..The property services division used my expertise and consulted me on all energy saving matters. I have an excellent understanding of this expanding and very important section of the Construction industry and am fortunate to have undertaken this area of work- it has complemented my extensive experience in Commercial and Contract Management matters. My work area extended right across Southern England, into Eastern England, Inner and Greater London. I also, whilst undertaking the ECO works for MITIE, undertook sections of commercial responsibility of their framework with Orbit Housing in Kent--Reactive, planned maintenance and finalisation of decent homes-kitchens bathrooms etc. There were also some new build works-extension to schools and medical facility's, all of which I oversaw commercially from tender to final account.
Due to staff reductions at the office I was employed in, I decided to seek a new challenge. Combined value of projects £30m .My position with Mitie required me to be very client focused and facing, attending regular KPI and progress meetings-including design.

I had responsibility for a team of two Quantity surveyors and four Assistant Quantity surveyors. I became involved in the development of the company's operating systems and was responsible for the successful delivery of five large projects totalling £40 million for clients such as British Gas, Carillon, Wates and several Housing Associations -all works under Green deal and CESP.In conjunction with the insulation of the building fabric the works also included the complete external refurbishment including replacement of roof coverings and windows, repairs to the brickwork and concrete and the replacement of the internal Heating and Electrical systems. I also monitored the external valuations to clients and the internal payment system to sub-contractors and produced the monthly cost/value reconciliations and presented these to the Board of Directors.. I also undertook the role of Senior QS on several of the projects due to lack of availability of suitable staff. I did, site measures, stock reconciliations, full valuations, Sub-Contractors Accounts, Main Final Accounts and Forecasts. As a result of the extraordinary expansion of the company, the board and management were entirely restructured and the company employed a Commercial Director to replace myself and the Commercial Manager from the northern office.
