I'm offering
I am a freelance geospatial specialist based in London with 5 years experience in the field. I have worked for various organisations including the Zoological Society of London, Earth Active and COOPI/Concern Worldwide as a GIS specialist, working with shapefile, satellite, LiDAR, elevation data and more, as well as creating and manipulating geospatial data, plus gathering data in the field using GPS and drones. These positions have given me solid experience in the application of GIS to forestry, habitat management, disaster management and hydrology in particular. I have strong skills in ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, Google Earth Engine, R and ERDAS IMAGINE.
I have been working as a freelance GIS and geospatial analyst for 4 years, providing tutoring and consultancy services to over 30 clients, including undergraduate, masters and PhD students, as well as companies in a variety of sectors from geotechnical to tourism. Projects include assisting a client to build a factor of safety model indicating landslide susceptibility, undertaking a land suitability analysis for a wind farm in Wales and analysing the impact of station failure on the connectivity resilience of London's Underground system.
With an undergraduate degree (BSc) in Physical Geography and a masters degree (MSc) in Geophysical Hazards, I also have a solid academic background in earth sciences and environmental monitoring.
My interests include travelling, hiking, cycling and exploring new places.
