Job Summary:
To provide a good standard of care which will promote the recovery of the patient's as well as stability and maintaining good professional relationship with other health care professionals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Immediate post - operative care.
2. Plan, implement and evaluate care given to assigned patients in an effective and organized manner.
3. Provide for the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient & families.
4. Complies with established Nursing Department Policies & Procedures.
5. Maintain & update all relevant patient documentations / medical records as per hospital's policy & procedure.
6. Maintain confidentiality of patient's records.
7. Takes responsibility for professional clinical practice and is actually involved in updating and continuing education.
8. Follows the reporting mechanisms in the Nursing Department. Ensuring problems which impact of the nursing division, issues are correctly and quickly reported. These include all patients care issues.
9. Complies with established nursing division policies and procedures.
10. Attends and participates in ward / unit meetings & other QI managerial activities assigned.
11. Will take responsibilities in the ward or unit in the absence of the head nurse as assigned by the nursing administration.
12. Participate in the rehabilitation and discharge planning of patients / families.
13. To act as a mentor for junior staff assigned to the area.
