Operations, IT and Business Development Manager
Stateside Skates Ltd.
During my time here, I have worked in a variety of roles and have been promoted numerous times; I am now
the second in charge of the company which employs around 25 people. My role is to drive the expansion and
development of the business and oversee all operations in a busy and successful firm. My main areas of responsibilities include:
• Strategy. Along with the Managing Director and CEO, I influence the overall strategy of the firm. I
helped to drive the business's expansion from a domestic wholesaler into a worldwide brand-house and distributor. I help to steer the direction of the company and its long-term plans and investment
decisions, currently working on a project to incorporate a subsidiary in the EU.
• Computing. I successfully led a project to upgrade the company's IT systems so that most operations
now run automatically through Business Intelligence. I played a fundamental in the implementation of a new back office system, which has improved the firm's profits in the years since. I have led two
projects developing new B2B websites for customers to order from, which have significantly increased
sales numbers since launch and are live in five languages, increasing sales across all global markets.
• Operations. I run the day to day operations of the company, overseeing all departments and making
sure that all teams are meeting expectations. My role includes bringing together all departments to push through projects and hit deadlines, as well as contributing to the management of the firm's cash
flow. I am fully trained on customs procedures and can handle most import and export documentation.

• Export. My export sales role involved the expansion of our EU trade and this was followed up with now
consistent sales in over 55 countries globally, focused in Asia, the Middle East and South America.
Export turnover now accounts for more than 70%, an increase from 5% when I joined the firm. I now
manage a team of 4 people to run the export department and use my language skills daily.
We have received recognition for export success, including winning a Queen's Award for International
Trade in 2016, being listed in the Sunday Times SME Export Track 100 in 2016 and 2017. In 2019 the Department for International Trade awarded the status of Export Champion, which involved advising
other companies on exporting across the world.
• Exhibitions. I have been at the forefront of our exhibitions at multiple trade shows, handling the organisation and running of the events as well as being part of the team presenting to clients.
• Data analysis and purchasing. I write and design reports on SAP software that keep the company
processes running, whilst also providing key analysis for sales and purchasing decisions. I form part of the purchasing team that dealt with factories and import logistics.
• Recruitment. I introduced and managed a scheme to recruit more talented graduates from universities
and oversaw the process which recruited talented people who helped to grow the company.
• Intellectual Property. My role includes managing and driving the registration the intellectual property of the firm, comprising more than 50 trademark, design right and patent registrations globally.
• Pricing. I set the prices of all product ranges in all markets across the world. In my time here I have
completely overhauled the pricing configuration of the business' products. I have simplified the tariffs
and introduced a new pricing structure which increased profit margins considerably.
• Product Ranging. I drive the direction of the brands we own and plan ranges for the following year. I
head up ranging meetings, price new items and deliver products from concept to launch.
• Marketing. I lead campaigns for product launches, planning marketing campaigns, wording
promotional material and translating it. I follow up with all major customers to make sure these
campaigns achieved the desired sales results.
