I am currently working as a Medical Writer in a freelance capacity for health economic and medical communications agencies within the pharmaceutical industry. Below is an example of some of the assignments completed during my time as a freelancer.
PROJECT PORTFOLIO (SELECT PROJECTS ONLY, IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER)
Bioscript Group
• Developed of a variety of oncology publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, congress oral presentations. Starting material included raw data, clinical study reports and investigator drafts.
• Researched and wrote a narrative review on the long-term effects of currently-available medication for psoriasis.
Maverex
• Researched and wrote a systematic review on the use of triple therapy inhalers for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which has now been published.
• Updated a global value dossier for a COPD product including modules on: burden of disease; guidelines and current treatments; and clinical and economic value of the product.
• Performed research on the epidemiology of several rheumatological conditions including systemic lupus erythematosus and Sjogren's syndrome. The results were written up as internal reports for dissemination within the company.
• Developed value messages for a product in the field of psoriatic arthritis.
• Prepared advisory board materials and subsequently provided support on the development of publications (conference presentations and a manuscript) on the cost effectiveness of an opioid antagonist for the prevention of heroin overdose fatalities.
Axon Communications
• Developed e-learning materials for physicians working with obesity, with the aim to provide background on the disease area, summarize the available treatments and work through several detailed case studies. This involved liaising with key experts in the field of obesity to ensure the content was balanced and appropriate for the target audience.
• Researched and drafted a narrative review to provide a European perspective on the obesity epidemic.
Raptor Pharmaceuticals
• Prepared a congress newsletter for specialist physicians with the aim of increasing awareness of a particular rare disease and related topics of interest. This involved attending sessions of interest at a European congress and subsequently highlighting relevant research in the form of written content, figures and quotations.

• Developed value messages and updated a global value dossier for a blood pressure-lowering product. This included research into the epidemiology, humanistic and economic burden of hypertension, and providing background on the product in terms of clinical and economic value.
