I'm offering
Conor has been working as a structural engineer for over 5 years, having extensive experience in temporary & permanent works design across Ireland, the UK and internationally.
He completed his undergraduate from the University of Limerick in 2015 with a 1st class honours BE(Hons.) in Civil Engineering, from a unique program which uses ‘Problem Based Learning’, allowing an engineer’s mindset to be solidified early in one’s career. He decided to move to London soon after for the sheer scale and opportunity of projects available. In order to further his technical background - he subsequently undertook an MSc in Structural Engineering part time at Imperial College London in 2016 whilst maintaining a full workload. He graduated in 2019 with a ‘Merit’ achieved.
The projects with which he has been involved range from new-build and remedial/renovation for individual homeowners to high rise commercial and residential buildings for multinational developers. He has worked closely with other construction section professionals such as architects and quantity surveyors to achieve both technically feasible solutions and those goals key to other design team members such as cost and keeping to tight project schedules. The analysis and designs have, primarily, been to Eurocodes with additional proficiency in American, British and Australian standards.
Conor also spent 9 months, during his undergraduate studies, working as a site engineer on an RC framed building, allowing for an insight into practical engineering methods which has informed all his designs to date.
Proficient in all major construction materials, from structural steel & RC/PT concrete to Glulam/timber & masonry. The range of programs with which has high levels of proficiency include general engineering software such as Strand7, TEDDS and Mathcad, as well as proprietary software such as WALLAP, RAM, ETABS and IDEASTATICA.
