Technical Manager
Radii Partitioning.
The main roles and responsibilities I had include:
• Provide technical QC of General Arrangements and Section Details of a project to design manager and ensure corrections are carried out.
• Under take a Raw Material Call Off (RMTO) for all aluminium, seals, pivot kits and fixing blocks. This is sent out to the operations department to enable forecasting for production.
• Produce technical drawing pack for each project, including individual part drawings, machining detail drawings, machined aluminium lists (MAL) and component call off (RA) including doors and door frames, as well as door glass drawings.
• Ensure ease of buildability and fixing problems are overcome during MALing process, so they do not progress to site
• Upload all drawings and BOM’s required to the technical database and BTMC, to allow operations and purchasing, to order and plan production.
• Complete a handover with the projects Contract Manager, providing technical details of the project build phase. Generate build sequence for complex builds
• Attend site to have an overview of progress and provide ongoing technical support.
I also have a few individual roles within the department, due to my previous experience
• Responsible for structural calculations, where required within a project. Such as atrium screens
• Providing technical reports based on SolidWorks simulation FEA and hand calculations to be issued to clients to prove that a design will exceed the specified Line Load requirement. As part of this role I have attended a 3-day course at SolidWorks to get an improved understanding of the simulation package, broadening my depth of knowledge in this area.
• Research and development work to improve the acoustic ratings of the partitioning systems and reduce costs.

Survey Engineer
Bibby HydroMap.
Mechanical Design Work - Solidworks
While at Bibby HydroMap I have worked hard to provide high quality support and expertise to many of the projects undertaken by them, in doing so I have gained valuable experience. This has been reflected in my successful application to the IMechE for Incorporated Engineer status, which is a significant step to achieving Chartered Engineer status.
To improve the design capability of Bibby HydroMap and reduce the cost of external design work associated with the manufacture of survey deployment systems. I successfully advocated for the introduction of the 3D engineering CAD Package, SolidWorks.
Design Achievements
I have been involved with 55+ design projects during my time at BHM, every project has had different needs and requirements which has enabled me to adapt to a flexible approach to the design process. The 2 stand out projects during my time at Bibby HydroMap are Bibby Athena’s USBL and MBES poles and an ROV Survey Skid for the state of the art ROV, the d’ROP.
