STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT
• Working with sector heads to align sector strategy across global offices and implement a strategic approach to the bids process and proposals
• Provide support and approval on all tenders with an anticipated fee value that is in excess of £150k, and chair meetings with the Pricing Committee for opportunities with an anticipated fee value that is in excess of £500k
• Liaise with other sector leads (Energy, AMT, Financial Services & Real Estate) to strategically align approach for multi-practice panel opportunities
• Managing firm-wide panel/strategic project bids at tender and presentation stages, ensuring all stakeholders involved are engaged and fully updated with the progresses
• Implementing an efficient model for pitches across the sector and wider practice to support the development and delivery of innovative and bespoke proposals
• Working with our global offices and being the point of contact for all sector led proposals, to ensure opportunities are aligned with our wider sector strategies and to support the consistency of our firm's pitch approach
• Managing a team of three bids executives across the UK, Middle East and South Africa regions, providing leadership and support to assist in their personal development
• Chair quarterly meetings with sector leads to review past opportunities and analyse the win/loss ratio.
BID MANAGEMENT
• Liaise with key stakeholders to develop innovative proposals and present Pinsent Masons as a pioneering law firm.
• Undertake opportunity analysis - develop an understanding for each opportunity and thoroughly analyse the project's viability and ensure it sits within the firm's purpose and long-term strategy
• Organise tender 'kick-off' meetings to provide guidance and support to stakeholders and establish best methodological approach for the proposals and allocate responsibilities
• Embedding the use of client research, competitor and sector analysis within the pitch strategy
• Managing the bids process from beginning to end, liaising with relevant individuals to ensure consistency and coherency in proposal content
• Collaborating with internal teams across different sectors to establish a bespoke service and consulting stakeholders on the best approach to tailor client pitch
• Coordinating rehearsals and providing advice and coaching on style, approach and messaging of presentations
• Chair debriefs with stakeholders to determine 'lessons learnt' and how we can implement these in future proposals
• Assisting the Client Relationship Managers in the onboarding process of new projects/clients ensuring the initiatives proposed at tender stage are implemented.
