As a newly created role, I spent the first quarter of 2019 observing common site practice to gain a comprehensive
view of the existing Health and Safety provision at urbanest, and to then prioritise areas that could benefit from further development. I created a 3 year Health & Safety Strategy, delivering standards which achieve full compliance
with relevant legislation and the recognised Occupational Health and Safety Management standard ISO45001 and to date, I have executed the year 1 actions successfully. The main focus of my role is to develop and implement policies and procedures to meet legislative requirements and to ensure that all sites are consistently a safe and secure
environment for all staff, students and visitors, and to ensure that all team members understand the business H&S
objectives and work together to achieve it. I manage site risk assessment, reporting and actions, and also oversee the hard and soft FM SLAs across 7 sites.
I also act as the responsible person for fire, water and electricity regulatory compliance, and as a business we are
currently working to bring the organisation in line with BS ISO 9001, 14001, & 18001.
