My experience
2016 - 2016
job
Marketing Assistant
York College.
I supported several successful marketing campaigns to increase student numbers across a range of study levels and subjects. The campaigns were multi-media, involving web and social media as well as press and PR. I took the lead on several campaigns, including Adult Education, Higher Education and Business Development. Tasks included sourcing and writing content for the website and using a content management system to upload and maintain it. I also created live and scheduled posts for the social media sites (Twitter and Facebook), produced email marketing using Mailchimp and created case study questions using SurveyMonkey.
I produced copy for printed brochures and leaflets, liaising with the design studio and proofing and amending drafts. I undertook PR tasks, writing press releases and arranging photo opportunities for local media. I also produced internal communications, writing news articles and taking photographs for the staff intranet and newsletters. I helped to promote income-generating activities, including for the catering and retail services, ticketed events and for the Business Development Unit. Among my tasks was also maintaining the online image and video library, ensuring all media was correctly labelled and easily accessible. I assisted at events including open days, results days and graduations. I also helped host visits from potential new students from local schools. I also provided general administrative support to the wider Marketing Team.
