St Stephens Society, GoGetters Program.
The GoGetters Program is designed to give young men and women a chance to live a life outside of the gangs of Hong Kong and is full of individuals who have been recommended the program by the police or who are on their
last chance before going to prison.
As a team member at St Stephens, I was involved in assisting with the day to day activities of the teenage boys
house. Team members live life alongside the boys in the house; doing chores, playing sports, helping them with schooling, along with other responsibilities. We also supervised them on group outings to Disneyland, the beach and church. Along the way, team members are encouraged to build friendships with the boys and other team
members in order to demonstrate a sense of family and community in contrast to the lifestyle that many of them
had experienced amongst the gangs of Hong Kong.
