As the Marketing lead for Crimson Tide PLC, I reported directly to the Sales Director and worked closely with the sales team daily, becoming an integral part of the team. Starting from scratch I built the marketing function, creating a small team including a Digital Marketing Manager and in-house Designer. The product was a B2B SaaS offering, used by Highstreet names such as Tesco and Compass Group as well as SMEs.
This was a great challenge, overseeing the creation and execution of the strategy as well as managing the budget and reporting on all activity and results for the UK, Ireland, Benelux and Middle East.
As a service based business, I developed and executed the marketing strategy for business development, Internal Communications and customer onboarding and retention, to ensure great service was at the heart of our brand. We worked directly with customers, as well as building a robust partner channel.
I managed a full scope of activities from events including internationally to PR, management of our Microsoft Dynamics CRM and advertising and sponsorships, as well as editorial and content creation, all to support our sales function. I was also lucky enough to have a large input into the product offering itself, ensuring customer requests were presented to the development team, shaping it into a product that truly served our customers.
Key achievements
• Building a marketing function from scratch, researching and launching our product, mpro5, into the UK and International markets.
• Developing a Customer Excellence Team, building brand values and ensuring service standards and communication throughout the business.

As the sole Marketing Manager for the Retail Division, I managed the marketing for 12 insurance brands. The pace was extremely fast with extensive scope. I managed the planning and execution of our marketing function, managing other team members to achieve our goals. From websites, PPC and content creation to branding, events, advertising and partnerships, the role was extremely hands on. As the sole marketing function for the brands, reporting directly to the respective Managing Directors, I controlled a number of budgets, reporting on campaign performance. In a crowded insurance market, segmentation and partnerships were key to this role, which allowed me to hone my data and CRM skills. With so many brands to manage, the key to this role was time management, prioritising my workload and building strong relationships ensuring all of my stakeholders were well informed and happy, managing expectations to deliver the best results that I could for them and their brands.
