Senior Quantity Surveyor
2019 John Graham Construction Limited.
Client: Calderdale Council
Project: New Build Library and Refurbishment of the existing Piece Hall (NEC Option B), £21M
Duties
Lead Surveyor monitoring and pricing of Project Managers Instructions (1100Nr, value £7M) and management of curtain walling, scaffolding and fit out packages. Duties include, compilation of all tender documents, cost reporting, client liaison for commercial matters, vetting of contracts
The condition of the existing Piece Hall (built 1800), generated its own challenges through identification, pricing and seeking instruction of over 300Nr Compensation Events (1400Nr total changes).
Towards the end of the project, I have assisted in pulling together the costs associated with a claim for prolongation and thickening costs in conjunction with HKA claims consultants to substantiate a previously submitted claim in the region of £5M.
Concurrent to the claim, I have been deployed to manage a team of surveyors on the Ellesmere Street scheme, a 204 Bed Apartment block worth £28M (D&B).

Senior Quantity Surveyor
John Graham Construction Limited.
Client: Manlife Limited
Project: New Build (Rental) Apartment Block - 201Nr Apartments, £28.1M (JCT Design and Build with Amendments) - Weavers Quay
Build: Concrete Frame
Duties
Lead the early Procurement in terms of key envelope and long lead packages. The build was a concrete frame which was procured with the Sub-Structure works, the overall envelope was to be let as one single package, but due to the demise of "Coverstructure", an alternative Procurement route had to be adopted at very short notice. We managed to achieve splitting all the packages within the original commercial allowance without incurring any program slippage.

Titan Group Limited.
Duration: 54 Weeks Refurbishment Scheme (JCT Traditional), 52 Weeks New Build Residential + Self Delivered Groundworks & Basements(JCT Design and Build) & 64 Weeks Office Extension and Refurbishment (Construction Management - D&B)
Duties
Lead Surveyor on Design and Build and Traditional JCT Projects. Duties include, compilation of all tender documents, cost reporting, client liaison for commercial matters, vetting of contracts. The three schemes have been extremely challenging, monitoring, management and recovery of a variation account equating to 50% of Contract Value (Refurbishment Scheme), the challenges of procurement within inner London with low value packages and managing the clients expectations with the open book Construction Management scheme.
Due to the sudden liquidation of the Groundworks & Basements Sub-Contractor meant the entire package (£650k) needed to be self-delivered by appointing the labourdirect and procuring all necessary plant and materials, inclusive of craneage.

PERSONAL QUALATIES
I consider myself to be a quick learner with the ability to pick up new skills with ease. Having experience in a wide variety of environments with the construction industry, I have found that clear forward thinking enables me to effectively prioritise my workload and improve my ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. I have excellent communication skills, which are constantly being refined through work, presentations, and lectures. When working in a team I feel comfortable with either taking a leading role in a situation, or allowing others to take charge. Either way I am always fair, willing to listen to the opinion of others and hopefully learn from their experiences. I can relate to people from a wide variety of backgrounds and am aware of the importance of professional and appropriate behaviour in different situations. When embarking on new challenges, I have the ability to identify, analyse and solve problems and enjoy seeing these challenges through to a successful outcome. My strength of character and temperament (being level headed, pragmatic and self motivated) will assist me in challenges facing me in the future. I also feel that my sense of humour as been a great asset to me in the past and will continue to help me resolve any problems that I encounter
• Full clean Driving Licence
• PC Literate with a sound working knowledge of word, excel and PowerPoint
• Have a good working knowledge of project management software - CA super project
• Hold a CSCS accreditation at Management level
• Achieved 72% (Distinction) in my Award writing as part of my first year Masters, thus negating the required entrance exam to achieve MCiarb status.
