CAREER SUMMARY Jan 2019 - Present: HB Projects Ltd Quantity Surveyor In this role I am responsible for preparing all costs and estimates for tenders and current projects, managing the project from pre development to final account, mainly working on our Co-Op account. My main duties are: • Attend scoping/ survey meetings and developing costs plans and agreeing with client PQS/PM • Directly manage and oversee several construction projects from conception to completion while monitoring compliance with safety and building regulations. • Coordinate subcontractors and the construction team to meet contractual conditions of performance as well as manage all relevant contractual and commercial aspects of a project. • Prepare external and internal reports relating to job status, and valuations and estimating. • Communicate and coordinate with the Site Management team to ensure projects are completed on time and exceed the customer's requirements, whilst capturing the relevant changes and reporting these accordingly. • Attending monthly cost reporting meetings to discuss the performance of each allocated projects. Achievements This role has allowed me to grow my knowledge and experience of working within the retail sector, working in a quick paced environment carrying out detailed scope of works on short lead times and construction programmes. The main duties are: • Directly manage and oversee several construction projects from conception to completion while monitoring compliance with safety and building regulations. • Coordinate subcontractors and the construction team to meet contractual conditions of performance. • Manage and coordinate staff levels to ensure the smooth delivery of construction projects and meet budget requirements. • Prepare external and internal reports relating to job status, daily progress, programming, valuations and estimating. • Procure materials including hire and all other associated requirements for the delivery of the construction projects • Communicate and coordinate with the Site Management team to ensure projects are completed on time and exceed the customer's requirements. Achievements Crowle Primary Acadamy - £607k - four phase school refurbishment to upgrade heating and electrical works, as well as internal flooring and ceilings and decoration March 2016 -July 2018: St Leger Homes of Doncaster Quantity Surveyor (Contract and Commercial) In this role I am responsible for four contract managers and three Clerk of Works controlling approximately 90 contracts, made up of works, services and supplies. My role reports to the Service Manager in co-ordinating an efficient, cost effective and customer focused service for all areas of responsibility. I undertake a full range of contract, commercial and quantity surveying services for schemes delivered through St. Leger Homes capital programme, ensuring that internal and external contracts represent value for money and provide a high quality service to the end users • Negotiate with internal or external contractors on target costs/maximum prices, interim valuations, claims, variations and final accounts and where applicable contract resolution • scheme forecasting, monitoring and reporting on St. Leger Homes capital works including the provision of a detailed monthly cash flow • to maintain an accurate and robust cost database for future schemes proposals • Preparation of bills of quantities, schedules of works, project specifications and contract documentation ensuring based on the project brief. • To investigate, resolve and respond to various stakeholder complaints/enquiries • Carry out general line manager duties • Overseeing the contractor managers and clerk of works to make sure that they are working within the values of the organisation • Undertake the appraisal of the performance of employees and identifying of their training and development needs and facilitating appropriate training provision linked to the requirements or their job.
