Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Position: Training & Development Coordinator
Responsibilities:
• Ensure all operational employees are kept competent in their core firefighting skills by organising and maintaining a Training Prospectus
• Ensure all non-operational employees are placed on training courses appropriate to their role
• Ensure all training provided is in line with guidelines/statutory requirements
• Maintain the training database held on ResourceLink and LEO (Learning Pool)
Position: PA to Chief Fire Officer, Deputy Chief Fire Officer and Assistant Chief Fire Officer
Responsibilities:
• Providing Personal Assistant support to the management team of Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (Chief Fire Officer, Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Assistant Chief Fire Officer / Head of Human Resources).
Varied role which involved:
• managing travel arrangements
• diary and meeting organisation
• organisation and minuting of high level meetings
• project work - including the successful organisation of an official Opening Ceremony for the new Brigade Headquarters
• involvement in disciplinary and grievance matters
• Liaising with colleagues, other emergency services, local authority, local councillors, MPs, members of the public and various other organisations.
Position: IRMP Project Support Officer
Role:
Responsible for working with the Service Delivery Transformation Team to support the delivery of the IRMP Projects, and other areas of the Service Delivery Transformation work streams.
Position: Firefighter (Control)
Responsibilities:
• Answering emergency (999) calls and mobilising resources to deal with the incident
• Ability to respond in a calm, confident manner during highly stressful situations in a fast paced environment
• Sending and receiving radio messages to/from emergency vehicles en route and at the scene of an emergency situation
• Varied administration work including; emails, telephone queries, creating presentations, providing training to colleagues
• Liaising with the public and other organisations ie police, ambulance, local council, Environment Agency
Position: Intervention Sessional Worker (part time) - concurrently with all other roles and still current
Responsibilities:
• Providing support / education to families who have children who have experimented with fire or have committed offences involving fire setting. Full details can be supplied including training undertaken.
Full job descriptions can be supplied. These are all varied and demanding roles which require excellent time management and an ability to work under pressure.
