After completing my BA (Hons) Degree in Photography & Digital Imaging at University, I went on to design both internally for fashion accessories companies and externally for advertising and multi-disciplinary agencies. I have spent almost 20 years designing and creating for some big name brands both across UK & Europe. Clients have included high profile celebrities, high fashion brands, homeware companies, sports lifestyle brands, ecommerce websites, beauty & make up brands and lots more in between.
Though I am now based in the UK, I have spent much of my time living and working remotely from various exotic (and not so exotic) locations abroad which has given me a huge insight into design and creativity on a global scale.
I balance my freelancing day job with personal creative work and the great outdoors. If I am not behind my computer, you can find me in the sea. With a passion for surfing and snorkelling, I may well start growing gills.
My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to find the emotional connection behind the idea I’ve been assigned or am interested in. I do several iterations on each point and usually end up refining the one I find most inspirational and elegant.
For me, design isn’t about instigation, but rather, a way to arrest your audience. It’s a way to plant a little bit of desire in their hearts; a yearning to turn the page and learn more about your idea. Ultimately, it’s about creating memorable images.
