BESPOKE DEVELOPER
CIMLogic Ltd.
UK
• I work hand in hand with project managers, business consultants and integration consultants to determine what our clients needs and wants via our software are met. It's my job to ensure our software are in-line with both company and customers policy.
• My role as software developer entails supporting existing systems with our clients. Once a client sends in a change or complaint about a system we have provided, I would get details of the issue, check the issues do exist with the system. In situations where its a bug or error on the system, I will design a fix to it, test the fix, follow proper company procedures to deploy the fix(such procedures include obtaining confirmation from the client to update their system so that they are aware and we don't stop or inhibit their business in anyway). In cases where its a total change of an already existing procedure in the system, I will inform the necessary parties (such as project manager, business consultant etc.) of what the impact of the change will be, how long to design and when implementation of this change can be done. Once the customer accepts this feedback, design, testing and implementation of the new feature can commence.
• I ensure new features being added to our enterprise field service management applications are in line with the company policy. This includes designing and testing (unit and integration tests) of the new feature, deploying it through our DevOps, Azure etc. pipelines and ensuring that the new feature does not break already existing features or tests. And in situations where this may happen, we redesign or bug fix the issue, write unit and integration tests and redeploy into our enterprise system.
• Customers expect bespoke software that appeal to their need. One of my responsibilities is to take codes delivered from our core development center and design it be specific to the customers need. The changes have to be in line with company policy such as colour, font types, sizes etc. This will all have to be run and tested thoroughly on our systems before deployed or delivered to the customer.
• As a developer, I join the project managers, business analyst etc. gather information from the customer, develop a functional specification document which the client accepts. I draw up a DS (description software), that breaks down what each feature in the system entails and how it should be developed, which software to use (SQL, asp. Net), mock-up shots of what the web pages should look like. These mock-ups are also communicated to the customer to see if they meet their expectations. The business analyst draws up a UAT test document which will be accepted by both parties. This document ensures that whatever software I develop needs to fulfil or pass the requirements in this document. After deployment the customer uses this document to retest the system and only after the system passes these tests can the project be closed or accepted by the customer.
• All of our systems should have unit tests written. Peer code review amongst the development team ensures that another pair of eyes gets to view the code and system to detect flaws or pieces that may be missed by the me.
• We had previously used bitbucket for our code repository but have moved now to DevOps and Azure. As a developer I ensure to checkout the most recent code, work on my branch and merge into the repository once done and after approval from fellow developers. This gives us a one place stop for all changes and trail to the code.

BESPOKE DEVELOPER
UNITY BANK PLC.
ABUJA, NIGERIA
• The Power Builder and Sybase Database applications was having a backlog that was increasing per second, to the tune f 50MB per minute, of unfinished processes hanging thus customers were not receiving sms alerts and were complaining. I read through the code with the help of a colleague and found where the bottle neck was and increased the limit allocated for messages in each process and the backlog cleared itself within two days.
• One of the Power Builder Applications was suddenly not completing its flow to the reporting stage for some reason we could not figure out. The bank had customers waiting for these receipts in branches nationwide. I created an Asp.net (C#) and crystal report program that continued the missing part and we directed the Power builder code to call up the asp net program at that point of error and the process continued seamlessly thus saving the banks business for the day.
• Was part of the team which defined, implemented and operated the full software development lifecycle in the build of the New platform that receives and sends funds electronically to other banks using a third-party middle tier vendor using Asp.net (C#), windows services to integrate with applications and web services.
• Maintained the Bank's SQL server database with updates, stored procedures, table creation for other developers on the team etc.
• Worked in a support role for ASP.Net (C#) applications already running and improved where necessary by rewriting areas of codes that could be improved. Read through existing codes and bugged proof them where necessary.
• Developed Oracle stored procedures to aid new and existing applications.
• Developed reporting applications tools like SAP Crystal reports.
• Developed bespoke applications in ASP.NET (C# and VB.net) to meet the demands of the Bank.
• Developed Web Services API using SOAP protocol to interface the bank and third-party applications.
• Developed Web based applications deployed on IIS8.
• Developed Console Applications using ASP.Net (C#).
• Worked with OLAP and OLTP systems.
• Worked to integrate several of the banks databases using BI (SSRS SSIS),
• Etc.
