All day to day health and safety responsibilities across a large, complex and challenging chilled foods facility, some areas were relatively old (50 years +) and role included property maintenance across all 4 sites.
Responsibilities Included: visits and regular liaison with HSE, insurance and external stakeholders; updating policies with changing legislation and developing all associated documentation including SSOW, Risk Assessments, Method Statements etc; all H&S procedures such as Asbestos, Roof Space, Confined Spaces, Water Systems, PPE; overseeing all new construction - LOLA, contractor management, scaffolding, Cranes - HIAB. • Health and Safety Lead, to install, test and bring into full production continuous frying lines.
• Health and Safety Lead, to install, test and run the DAF plant which 'cleaned' wastewater.
• Integral to the team which developed the racking design in the Hub (c12,000 pallet spaces), engineering out most of the driver failing which was a long-standing issue and thereby drastically reducing incident rates to zero.
• Involved in equipment procurement, such as conveyors, mixers and ovens, which included visiting UK and European Suppliers.
