I'm offering
As a learning/instructional designer, my job is to:
• Question project sponsors to determine the nature of the learners and their requirements;
• Specify the content and the tools, time and budget required for development;
• Propose a design process which will deliver to the required standard within the budget and timeframe;
• Work with subject matter specialists to determine the academic/training content, keeping the needs of learners in mind;
• Develop a design for the finished product;
• Write content clearly and concisely for video and/or audio delivery;
• Curate imagery and other content;
• Write test/assessment items for valid and reliable testing of the specific learning objectives.
I have developed a comprehensive skill set across twenty-five years in the further, higher and adult education sectors; achieving outstanding results as a lecturer and trainer. I have subject matter expertise in leadership, management and teacher education.
I first became interested in distance learning when I studied with The Open University. This gave me an insight into how what is now termed ‘blended learning’ could work. Now online and digital learning are key drivers for innovation in adult education, training and professional development.
As well as freelance/contract positions, I am developing online courses to be offered under my own brand. I also blog about lifelong and online learning, including critiques of policy and campaigning for free education for all.
I have immediate availability for remote contracts. (Agencies please note, I am only able to consider remote working contracts.)
