My experience
2018 - 2020
temp
Inside IR35 CONTRACT, Digital Content designer / PM
Hampshire County Council.
Helping to implement a GDS-based project, creating digital services that work across multiple channels, devices, browsers and platforms. I help the government transform the way it delivers world-class, user-centered public services, so that they're more efficient, simpler, faster and easier to use.
I help to create digital products and accessible public services that people prefer to use over other options, and words play a big part in that.
My work starts with user needs. Liaising closely with different multidisciplinary teams within Agile environment, I'm working towards making Council services and information simpler, clearer and faster for residents, visitors and businesses. I'm also part of migration projects that helps re-designing existing intranets and extranets.
My work is always user-focused, being able to quickly assess a service and translate improvements into a digital proposition/design. Worked closely with Product Owner of Sitecore, Product Owner of SAP C4C, Technical Team lead SAP, Scrum Master for Sitecore, Release Manager on Digital and Environment Manager for HANTS. Some of the key elements as a designer are:
◦ taking complex language and processes and make them simple to understand
◦ making the case for user-focused design
◦ being able to explain my decisions clearly
◦ write content-plans, design wireframes, design/publish content
◦ meet with clients, stakeholders and be an advocate for web/design, helping them to navigate through a complex digital transformation and change
◦ collaborate with developers within two-week Sprints/Scrum daily meet ups and work closely with other Agile teams - heavily used MS TFS, setup dashboards, tracked burndowns of 2-week Sprints
◦ run workshops, trained users and implemented O365/SharePoint recommendation to enable productivity to teams using various tools like MS Teams, Planner, Flow and OneNote automation within a controlled SharePoint environment.
◦ used Bugzilla for BUGs, used TFS for tracking SIT/UAT and confidence testing, product backlog and progress on scheduled releases into PROD.
◦ used TFS for Version management with a view to get involved with DevOpps upgrade in Feb 2019
◦ used ForgeRock for digital identity management in the Cloud
◦ 2M+ budget holder for resources, used MS Project to align resource plan with outsourced resources needed for our work to complete release schedules.
◦ run daily Scrum meetings, and identifying and fixing impediments (blockers) for individuals on a daily basis
◦ run a project to enable connectivity and improvements between our Sitecore product and SAP C4C, SAP Marketing in-cloud CRM systems.
◦ run a PoC for SAP Sales to see if there are any benefits to bring the system into the organization
Site accessibility is another project where I've added value. Using Siteimprove to identify issues and make recommendations in both manual fixes and template re-designs that I've re-built into Sprint schedules to 3 different web teams.
