Project Manager
Carnival UK.
Carnival UK are a market leader in the cruise industry, they operate ships all over the world and are widely recognised by their famous brand names P&O Cruises and Cunard.
I have worked on numerous technology transformation projects including;
CORe Fleet Technology upgrade - CORe is a bespoke property management system (PMS) on board all the Cunard and P&O ships and this project is to remediate a number of security, performance and scalability (Iona-readiness) issues including;
• Migration from Windows 2012 to Windows Server 2016, SQL Database 2016 and MAPS framework 6.4.
• Changes to the Onboard Revenue Data Warehouse population process.
• Remediate non-authenticated API calls from third party applications to the CORe API servers.
• Design test and build new Population staging server to manage cruise booking data feeds.
• Validate potential Infrastructure resiliency options for ship, shore and disaster recovery.
Embarkation & Check-in - hardware replacement to the Fleet's Cisco wireless access points (WAP's) in-conjunction with a software upgrade to the PXP AnyPay POS & PED's at the check-in terminals. The project also requires the development of a card refunds process that can be automatically triggered on-board as part of the 1st and 2nd settlement stage. The last requirement is to conduct a POC to resolve and existing issues with some off-line credit card pre-authentication declines.
Pre-Cruise Communications - transition of two existing marketing systems; Pre-Cruise emails and Pre-Cruise brochures over to a consolidated marketing platform. The pre-cruise email journeys are issued over a 3-month period from D-84 up to the cruise departure date. The Pre-Cruise brochures are printed according to P&O or Cunard brand specific criteria and the loyalty tier.
Electronic Health Records - development of a number of API web proxies to facilitate the WebMethods integration between a cloud-hosted solution and an on premise MIMS medical prescriptions database.
CRM International - data transformation project to extracts of over 650k customer records from a number of European marketing databases into a single marketing tool. The majority of the marketing data was of Germanic origin and had to be fully validated and transformed in order to facilitate both Germanic & Anglicised address management both for direct mail and email campaigns.

Project Manager
Royal National Lifesaving Institute.
The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea and they provide, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service and a seasonal lifeguard service to the UK & Ireland inshore and coastal waters.
My assignment was to work on an IT remediation project known as (LSAR) the Lifesaving Activity Reporting system. The original development project was designed to replace the data capturing requirements of a retiring SAP return of service solution and transition to an AWS and Azure Cloud managed application.
I successfully scheduled a series of scoping and software development review workshops both internally and with the third-party software developer in order to agree and prioritise the next phase of the remediation software development work.
As part of this role I also regularly presented monthly project status updates to the LSAR Project Board and relevant RNLI project governance groups including the Technical Governance Board (TGB) and the PMO Gate Review Group (GRG).
