Micro Focus is a FTSE 100 IT Company. I managed several technical security projects to integrate acquisitions including TAG, Serena and HPE Software. This was a complex environment consisting of a large number of R&D Software Development Labs and heterogeneous legacy infrastructure. Projects were defined and aligned to the NIST framework.
• Responsible for all aspects of the project. This included developing the business case and presenting it at ExCo. Building the project cost tracker and owning the financial management throughout (5% tolerance)

• Deployment of Fortinet and Palo Alto perimeter firewalls and development of standards for the configuration of ATP features - such as web and application filtering.

• Through infrastructure deployment (SCCM, WSUS and SUSE Manager) and process change, successfully moved the organisation to a monthly patching cadence for servers and workstations. This was based on the development of a Patch Standard, with compliance reporting through SCCM and CMDB.
• Rolled out Fortinet NGFWs to provide internal network zoning of software development labs at circa 30 sites and deployed Fortimanager and integrated FWs with SIEM.
• Worked on both AWS deployment and migration of vulnerability scanning tools (xStorm, Rapid7, Qualys, OpenVAS) and the mitigation of vulnerabilities identified by these tools, with business and system owners.
• Rolled out security awareness training (SABA) and anti-phishing solution (KnowBe4) enterprise wide (20,000 users).

Managed a global strategic programme to develop a network quality of service/experience PaaS solution, integrated with the network operational processes of each Vodafone Operating Company. The mobile apps (Android, BB and iOS) were distributed to all Vodafone staff in each country to facilitate rapid reporting of network issues. The solution was then made ready for external customers, with the first deployment to the New Zealand Police Force managed service.

• E2E management of this complex, cross-functional programme to develop & deliver this new internal business capability. This included selecting, negotiating with and managing internal and 3rd party suppliers.
• Delivering all programme scope, including mobile App, networking, SSO integration, Identity Management & security, backend solution, establishment of an operating model and trials and rollout of the service to 20 local markets and end users.
• Stakeholder engagement, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement & communications within the programme, monthly ExCo dashboards, management of the business case, budget tracking and supporting contract negotiations.
• Managed relationships with Group Legal, Security and Testing to ensure that data processing was lawful (in each country), and that security vulnerabilities from activities such as PEN and load testing were addressed in the delivery phases.
