Group Head
Spark.
SPARK are The Telegraph's branded content division and I drove revenue growth for Mediacom by developing, pitching and delivering 'native' digital and branded content partnerships across all Telegraph platforms. Partnerships include:
- Direct Line Insurance: 'Landlord Guide' 14 month campaign £220k+ A definitive guide for the issues and problems faced by
landlords of all levels. The campaign let Direct Line establish authority and thought leadership by demonstrating a total
understanding of a landlord's world using a mix of seasonal, evergreen and reactive content across print, and digital platforms.
- Nikon: 'See Things Different' 5 months £300k+ By celebrating the unique perspective every photographer brings to their
pictures, this campaign used a mix of custom video, interactive content and articles to showcase the versatility of Nikon's new
product range and deliver interesting, inspiring and informative content for photographers looking to up their game.
- Voltarol: 'The Joy of Movement' 4 months £180k+ A campaign that provided hope to osteoarthritis sufferers by dispelling
negative connotations of the disease with targeted content and advice based on pre-campaign insight of sufferers 'search behaviour.
- Other notable campaigns include: School of Rock (£100k+), Atomic Blonde, Split, The Darkest Hour and The Snowman (all £30k+).
Industry Lead: Film & Ents (Dec 2012 - Aug 2016)
The 'Industry Leader' team drives all conversations with The Guardian's top tier advertisers. I led strategic, long term (3+ months) partnership discussions and oversaw short term (0-3 months) media opportunities. Detailed knowledge of my
category was crucial to understanding any issues my clients face and enabled monetisation of the film category.
- Primary point of contact for a client portfolio spanning Film, TV, Streaming & Gaming that delivered annual bookings over £2.3m.
- Devised The Guardian's 'go to market' strategy for Film and Gaming clients that included new products, ad formats and content led
opportunities developed in conjunction with Guardian Labs, Guardian Membership and the editorial team.
- As Ents category specialist I provided regular updates to the sales team on industry developments as well as commissioned and presented research to help construct vertical specific sales arguments to agencies and clients.
